How the Lifesaver Bottle Works
A lifesaver bottle is a self-contained filtration system, unlike other filtration systems, there is no need for any hoses. Simply unscrew the base and fill the bottle with water by dipping it in the water source. After replacing the cap, pump the piston to filter the unsafe water and it is safe for drinking. This easy of operation is unmatched and very appealing.
A lifesaver bottle works through a 4000 ultra-filtration (UF) or 6000 ultra-filtration (UF) replaceable cartridge. This cartridge removes fungi, cysts, parasites, bacteria, viruses and other microbiological pathogens in water. It has a pre filter disk that protects the lifesavers bottle’s membrane from debris such as gravel, mud, sand and sticks giving the cartridge a longer life.
The bottle also has a carbon filter made from activated carbon block that can filter up to 1000 litres of water before the need for replacement. The activated carbon blocks removes any odor, taste, medical residues, pesticides, chlorine and metals such as lead and copper. However, a lifesaver bottle does not remove salt from the water.
What happens to the contaminants that are filtered out of the water?
The contaminants filtered out by the lifesaver bottle are left on the other side of the membrane. These contaminants can then be washed away with a front side wash or they can easily be removed by filling the bottle with water the emptying it.
What chemicals are used to clean the water?
As stated above, a lifesaver bottle filters water without using any chemicals.
